Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Aaron Rowland, a Danville native, graduated from Danville High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Centre College and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Auburn University. Upon graduation, Dr. Rowland returned to Danville and began practicing at Heartland Veterinary Hospital. In 2008, Dr. Rowland became co-owner of the Heartland Veterinary Hospital Group, providing small animal veterinary medical and surgical services in the Kentucky cities of Bowling Green, Danville, and Elizabethtown. Dr. Rowland is married to Dr. Amanda Holmes Rowland, also a veterinarian, from Campbellsville, Kentucky. Their two "children" are Susie, a black lab, and Bodie, a boxer.

Dr. Rowland enjoys being active in the education of the community and its residents. He provides enrichment programs on the care and welfare of animals at Kids Can Do, The Wilderness Trace Child Development Center, Sunrise Children's Home, A Child's Place, and the local elementary schools. He provides similar programs for the residents of McDowell Place and Arnold Tower. At these programs, Dr. Rowland encourages hands-on experiences by taking along a variety of guests, including dogs, cats, "pocket pets" such as a hedge hog, and occasionally a snake. 
Dr. Rowland serves on the Board of Directors for the Wilderness Trace Child Development Center, the Boyle County Health Department, the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce, and The Heart of Kentucky United Way. He is a member of the Danville Rotary Club, the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce, and the Young Professionals Club of Danville-Boyle County.

Dr. Rowland's hobbies include outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, and sports. He enjoys woodworking and photography and is an avid UK sports fan.
